Chapter 8, Mishna 6, 7, 8
Does the leniency of Rabbi Yehuda, who permits residents of neighboring courtyards to draw water from a shared well on their boundary so long as a proper wall passes over it, mirror the leniency of Rabbi Chananya be Akavya, who permits water to be drawn through a hole in a balcony so long as there is enough material in the balcony floor to create the needed partitions around the hole, even if such partitions are not present? If a stream passes through a courtyard, may we draw water from it on Shabbos?
