Teruma, the produce which only priests may eat, generally has slightly less stringency associated with it than sacrificial foods destined for the altar on the Holy Temple, but in certain cases teruma is treated even more stringently than sacrificial foods. Why? What happens when one brother is a pious, scholarly “chaver” and the other is an unlearned and possibly careless “am haaretz,” and they inherit property jointly from their am haaretz father?
