Apropos their analysis of Jewish women who were formerly captives, slaves or non-Jews, the Sages debate whether such women need to wait for three months before marrying a Jewish man in case they’re currently pregnant, and what measures they might have taken to avoid pregnancy. Back to the subject of execution/lashes exempt a sinner from paying money damages, the Sages ask whether one may pledge to donate the “valuation” of a condemned man, or is he considered dead already?
