If a city is besieged by foreign soldiers, do we create a legal presumption that all the women in the city were raped, which would lead them to be prohibited to their husbands if they’re married to priests? The Sages look for a loophole and find it – if there was a hiding place in the city, even a small one, we do not create this presumption. If the presumption is created, will a slave testimony that a woman was not raped be accepted? What if the slave in question is the woman’s own maidservant?
